Adding Watermark to your
Word Document - How?



What is Watermark? and how you can apply it in your word document?

Watermark can be defines as any graphic or text, such as "Confidential," that when printed appears either on top of or behind existing document text.

Here is how to add a watermark to your Word document:

To add a picture watermark to a document

  • From the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.

  • From the Printed Watermark dialog box, select Picture Watermark, and then click the Select Picture button.
  • From the Select Picture dialog box displayed, select the picture you want, and then click the Insert button.
  • Click OK.


    To add a text watermark to a document

  • From the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.

  • From the Printed Watermark dialog box, select Text Watermark.
  • In the Text box, select the text from the drop-down menu or you can type in the intended text. Do other necessary adjustments such as font, size, color and layout.
  • When finish, click OK.


    To remove a watermark

  • From the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.
  • From the Printed Watermark dialog box, select No Watermark.
  • Click OK.


    To change a clip art to become a watermark

  • Insert a clip art to the document as usual.
  • Point and right click on the picture and choose Format Picture.

  • From the Format Picture dialog box, click on the Picture tab. In the Image control section, Color drop-down menu, choose Washout.
  • Click OK.
