What you can do with Quick Access Toolbar?


Do you wish to place frequently used command icons in the Quick Access Toolbar? Yes, this can really save your time. You also can move the toolbar to place it in the desired location.

If you don’t like the huge ribbon taking up space on the Microsoft Office 2007 applications, you can minimize it so that it only shows up when you select a menu.

To add commands to the Quick Access Toolbar

  • Open the desired Office 2007 application.
  • Go to the ribbon at the top of the application and locate the command you wish to add to the. The command can be any icon in the ribbon.
  • Right-click the command and select Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

    To place the Quick Access Toolbar below the ribbon

  • Open the desired Office 2007 application.
  • Click the drop-down button at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  • From the Customize Quick Access Toolbar menu, select Show Below the Ribbon.

    To minimize the ribbon

  • Open the desired Office 2007 application.
  • Click the drop-down button at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  • From the Customize Quick Access Toolbar menu, select Minimize the Ribbon.
  • To return the ribbon to its original state, repeat the above steps.

    Note: Keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+F1.
