You should know that every file have they own program to open it. For example, you use the Windows media player to open songs or movies, use ACDSee to open a picture file, etc.

This also applied to MS Office applications. You can use the Microsoft Word program to open a document file with extension .doc, use Excel program to open a spreadsheet file with .xls extension and so on.

But the problem is not every one have this kind of programs in their computer as the programs is not free. You need to purchase it!

The Viewer allows you to open and view the files but you can't edit your MS Office document files. The good thing is that the Viewers are free to download.

Excel Viewer 2010
The Excel 2010 Viewer allows you to open, view, print and copy the Excel workbooks, even if you do not have Microsoft Excel program installed. However, you cannot edit data, save a workbook, or create a new workbook.

Word Viewer 2010
With Word 2010 Viewer and the Compatibility Pack, you can open, view, print, and copy document contents to another program. However, you cannot edit an open document, save a document, or create a new document.

PowerPoint Viewer 2010
With PowerPoint 2010 Viewer, you can view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions. You can view and print presentations, but you cannot edit them.
